eSIM Installation Guide

Below you will find step-by-step instructions to help you install and activate your Roamsim eSIM on both iOS and Android devices. 

iOS Installation Steps | One Click

Before installing your eSIM, please ensure you have a stable internet connection. You must must complete instructions on your iPhone using iOS 17.4 or later. You can Top Up and manage your eSIMs via the My eSIMs page.

My eSIMs

  • Choose your destination

    Find the best data plans in over 150+ countries. Traveling to multiple countries? Try a Multi-Country eSIM.

    Destinations

  • Click Install eSIM

    After purchase, your eSIM details will be available instantly via email or on the My eSIMs page. Click Install eSIM to begin setup.

    My eSIMs

  • Click Allow 

    You’ll be redirected to iPhone settings.
    Tap Allow on the activation prompt to proceed. Activation may take a few minutes.

  • Complete the setup on your iPhone

    Select your Primary SIM for everything except Cellular Data (e.g. Main Line, iMessage, FaceTime, etc).
    For Cellular Data (usually the last option), choose your eSIM.
    ⚠️ Important: Make sure “Allow Data Switching” is toggled OFF if prompted.

  • eSIM Installed!

    Your eSIM is now installed! Last Step: Go to Settings > Cellular > eSIM. Turn Data Roaming ON. Your eSIM will automatically connect to a network when you land.

  • Long press QR Code

    After purchase, your eSIM details will be available instantly via email or on the My eSIMs page. Long press the QR code or scan with your camera, and tap "Add eSIM"

Android Installation Steps | QR Code

Before installing your eSIM, please ensure you have a stable internet connection. You can Top Up and manage your eSIMs via the My eSIMs page.

  • Purchase a Roamsim plan

    Visit the My eSIMs page and click Install. You can also find installation instructions in the post purchase email from Roamsim.

  • Add Your eSIM

    Take a screenshot of your QR Code found on the My eSIMs page or in the post purchase email from Roamsim. Then on your device, go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR Code.

  • Scan the QR Code

    Tap "Scan QR Code". Either scan the QR Code, or from the bottom right image icon, select the QR Screenshot from earlier. Select Add eSIM and follow the steps.

  • Complete the setup on your Device

    Select your Primary SIM for everything except Cellular Data (e.g. Main Line, Messages,). For Cellular or Mobile Data (usually the last option), choose your eSIM. ⚠️ Important: Make sure “Allow Data Switching” is toggled OFF if prompted.

  • eSIM Installed!

    Your eSIM is now installed! Last Step: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks. Ensure Data Roaming is ON. Your eSIM will automatically connect to a network when you land.
